Volunteerism & Service: Paying it ForwardDuring the last academic year, 1,649 Iona students were involved in numerous service activities including Habitat for Humanity, Midnight Run events (outreach to the homeless), and outreach to the elderly, mission trips, soup kitchen visits, and much more.

Speaking as a sociologist—and a mother—her statement is imbued with strata of significance. Toliver’s primary research interest is in the stresses, strengths, values and family dynamics of upper-middle-class and upper-class African-American families.
