Central College, M2 – Business Economics

Teach a four-course load per semester in International Economics as well as in introductory Macro and Micro Economics. Interact with a diverse student body and faculty and take an active role in curriculum development, including the creation of new courses and the incorporation of innovative techniques in classroom teaching. Participate in activities of the discipline, the department of Social Sciences, and the college.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree plus 30 additional appropriate credits. Doctorate preferred. Evidence of successful college teaching experience, scholarly work and professional activities in the field of economics, with a background related to international economics.

The BS Program in Business Administration prepares students for careers in the global maritime industry concentrating in logistics and international business. The BA Program in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs (GSMA) prepares students for maritime policy careers, and provides students with academic and practical training in the fields of global maritime security, international maritime trade and economics, international maritime organizations and maritime environmental issues. We are interested in candidates who specialize in either macroeconomics and monetary economics, or health economics. Candidates must have their Ph.D. in hand by June 30, 2008, and must demonstrate the capacity for high-quality research and effective teaching. The candidate will have the opportunity to use the supercomputer located on the CSI campus and the New York Census Research Data Center located at Baruch College. Course responsibilities will include principles, intermediate microeconomics and macroeconomics, and introductory statistics, in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate’s field(s) of specialization.
