Both
whites and Blacks did not want to be with each other, however they are stuck
with each other, if they like it or not. The whites did not realize the blacks
did not want to associate with them. The white man felt since they were the
dominant culture, the blacks would surely want to be part of them. The author
wanted to express a medium balance; since we are stuck here together let us
make the best of it.
