"Instead of the
swift and imperceptible flowing of time, you are aware of its nodes, those
points where time stands still or from which it laps ahead."
The Invisible
Man reveals that because he is invisible he has accepted that history is
circular. He thus perceives time differently. He has the ability
to escape the malevolence of the cycle of history. In a sense, the
Invisible Man is aware that history will boomerang and take him from behind.
He is, however, aware now and can avoid the repercussions. He perceives
the flowing of time and because of this he is able to “slip into the breaks
and look around.”
