Sessions generally consist of three (possibly four) papers. Typically,
each paper has a discussant, and there is a session chair. Some sessions
are organized as panel discussions, in which case there may be several
presenters and no set discussants, or one general respondent to a variety
of presentations. Organizers therefore have some flexibility in the
design of their sessions.
The conference registration fee is $45 for EEA members and $95 for non-members.
There is an additional $15 charge for on-site registration. Membership
in the EEA costs $50 and includes four issues of the Eastern Economic
Journal. Student memberships are available at the discounted
rate of $25 (proof of status must be supplied). One can become a
member at the same time as one registers for the conference and immediately
avail oneself of the member rate. Fees can be paid by check (payable
to the Eastern Economic Association) or by Visa or MasterCard.

It is also helpful to inform the Executive Director of any scheduling
constraints or preferences as soon as they are known (for example, if your
participants cannot be at the conference on the Friday, or the Sunday,
or prefer the morning or afternoon, etc.).
After the Program Committee meeting a schedule of sessions will be developed
and made available on this web site. Changes in titles, participants,
etc. can be made up until the program goes to print. Later changes
will be published on a separate sheet provided with the printed program
at the conference. Both the printed program and web site program
will include e-mail addresses of those presenting papers. Authors
are also invited to supply information as to whether or not (and where)
their papers appear on their web sites so that they can be linked to the
EEA program web site.
The program committee will meet on December 2, 2006. A schedule of sessions will be available on the EEA web site soon after.
Hotel reservations must be made by January 19, 2007. After that date rooms may not be available at the conference hotel or at the special conference rate of $175 (plus taxes). The hotel for the 2007 conference is the Crowne Plaza Manhattan Hotel at 1605 Broadway (between 48th and 49th Streets) in New York City. The hotel number is 800 243-6969 or 212 977-4000 (by fax at 212 315 6164)..
In order to be listed in the printed conference program, participants
must register and pay the appropriate registration fee by January 12, 2007
(the fee is thereafter nonrefundable).
