Subject to budgetary approval, the Department of Business invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in finance at the assistant professor or associate professor level, beginning August 2007. Salary range: $38,801 to $71,732 for assistant professors and $50,321 to $84,902 for associate professors commensurate with business and teaching experience.
Individual should have strong training in finance, economics and statistics. We are seeking a strong teacher with a proven track record and demonstrated commitment to research . Teaching assignments are at the undergraduate and master level. The teaching load is typically one or two courses per semester for full time lines because each new hire is given a bank of 24 credits of release time for research to use during the first four years of service. After that, the teaching load is 10.5 credits per semester.
Prior to appointment, the ideal candidate should have Ph.D. in Finance, Economics or Business Administration and significant business or investment experience. Economics Faculty - Tenure Track
Salem State College is seeking to fill a tenure track position in Economics for the Fall of 2007. Teaching load is 12 hours. The position is advertised pending funding. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics and college level teaching experience.
Preferred qualifications include extensive research and publication experience. We also prefer candidates with experience in and commitment to teaching in a multiracial, multiethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles, as well as in distance learning and instructional technologies, and candidates who enjoy serving as role models and mentors for a diverse student body. Associate Administrator and Director for Bureau of Transportation Statistics in Washington, DC
The Associate Administrator and Director is responsible for directing a program to enhance data collection, analysis, reporting, and ensure the most cost-effective use of resources. The job requires coordinating the collection of information with the operating administrations of the Department and with other Federal agencies. In addition, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics publishes a comprehensive set of transportation statistics on the performance and impacts of the national transportation system.
Duties include fulfilling Congressional mandates, and meeting the needs of the Secretary of Transportation, the RITA Administrator and other transportation decision-makers by collecting, compiling, analyzing, and disseminating high quality, reliable, objective information on the Nation's transportation systems; collecting information on multi-modal and intermodal transportation and other areas as needed; and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the statistical programs of the Department through research, the development of guidelines, and the promotion of improvements in data acquisition and use.
The following criteria will be used to evaluate the managerial requirements for the job:

The Department of Economics invites applications for one anticipated tenure track opening at the assistant professor level, beginning Fall 2007 (subject to final budgetary approval). The successful applicant will have teaching and applied research interests in the areas of either (A) economic history and the history of economic thought or (B) industrial organization and government regulation. The person hired would contribute to undergraduate general education, the economics major and, possibly, graduate instruction. Candidates with an interest in applied, interdisciplinary work are particularly encouraged to apply; we are interested in candidates who will interact well with the applied policy researchers currently in the department. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and teaching experience. Evidence of progress towards an excellent scholarly record is highly desirable. Evidence of successful teaching with diverse students is highly desirable.
