As an undergraduate institution, we are involved not only in hands-on education of students, but also in providing mentorship in research experience. Towards this dual goals, we have implemented several programs to increase student involvement.
My PhD work at Brown was “Structure, Reactivity, and Models of the Silicon/Silicon Oxide Interface” which mainly deals with the solid/solid interfaces of dry/hard materials. With this work, I won the Brown Chemistry Department's Potter Prize for the best PhD Thesis.
During my postdoctoral research at Duke, I have participated in the soft materials research program at Duke. The research focuses on coating and encapsulation of solid, liquid and gaseous particles in the colloidal size range.
