S.A.A.C - STATIONS OF THE CROSS - APRIL 10, 2006
|
On Monday April 10th, Iona College’s Center for Campus Ministries provided an opportunity for all clubs and organizations to participate in the Living Stations of the Cross. In memory of Jesus’ death, Campus Ministers, Athletes, Faculty members, as well as local community members, joined together to relive what happened to Jesus, before he died on the cross. Stations were set up around campus, ultimately leading to the place where Jesus was nailed to the cross and thereafter died. Each station was represented by each organization. Prior to the ceremony, participants within their organization needed to write a reflection and prayer for the station they represented. Each station had a specific theme that connected Jesus’ suffering to the suffering of specific individuals in our world today. Iona’s Student Athletic Advisor Committee (SAAC) prepared the 13th station for the special ceremony. It is a great way for the Committee to be involved on campus, and share a very special ceremony with the Iona College Community.
