SWIMMING AND DIVING - RENEW NORTH AVENUE DAY - APRIL 16, 2005
|
On Saturday, April 16, 2005, members of the Iona College
Men and Women’s Swimming and Diving team took part in a community
wide initiative called "Renew North Avenue Day". Joined by other
New Rochelle and Iona Community members, the Swimming and Diving team spent
the morning picking up trash along the sidewalks, in parking lots, and
even within surrounding parks on North Avenue, from Eastchester Road to
the New Rochelle Transportation Center. The purpose of this initiative
was to enhance and maintain the New Rochelle environment for students,
residence, business owners, and visitors.
This clean-up effort was planned in conjunction with Earth Day and National
Volunteer Week. For more information please visit www.renewnorthavenue.org.
