WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MIDNIGHT RUN - OCTOBER 14th, 2004
|
| The Iona College women's basketball team completed its
first Midnight Run, the night before “Mulcahy Madness” for
their first community initiative of the year.
They met in the gymnasium
at 7:45 pm to meet members of Iona’s Campus ministry at the Montgomery
House. They then prepared food, drinks, and gathered clothing. The squad
departed for New York City at 9:30 pm after completing the preparation
of the supplies and loading the loading vans. At 10:00 p.m., they began
route for the Midnight run with stops at:
65th & CPW,
58th & Broadway, 53rd & Broadway, Times Square Church on 51st;
50th & Broadway with the last run on 46th Street.
After a rewarding
evening, the women’s basketball team departed New York City at
12:45am. They collaborated with the Iona College Campus Ministry for
this tremendous evening in providing the less fortunate with the things
we tend to take for granted on a day-to-day basis.
