Q: Some of my students report that once they save a Discussion Board posting, it disappears. Is there any way to get their posting back?

The Discussion Board in Blackboard 7.2 contains many features that were not available in previous versions of Blackboard, including the Save option. The Save button allows students to save a draft of a thread that is not visible to anyone other than the student. When the draft of the message is saved, it is not visible in the list of Published threads, which is why many students think their postings have disappeared.

If you click Save after drafting a posting, following these steps to access your posting and publish it:

1. In a Discussion Board Forum, click Show All next to Display. Click Go.
   
2. Any drafts that were previously created will display in the list. Click on the Thread Name to access a posting.
   
3. The Thread Detail will display. To publish the thread, click Modify, then click Submit.
