An additional tab for this page is available along with the "Courses" tab. You can access your current course sites on the "My Institution" welcome page, or by selecting the "Courses" tab.
Usernames and Passwords
Blackboard Usernames and Passwords have been created by the IT Department in the Blackboard user database for all current Iona Students. Iona Students' email addresses are also entered into the Blackboard user database. Instructors no longer have to input this data when enrolling students into their course sites, as explained in the following simplified enrollment procedure.
Enrolling Students into your Course Site
When you are ready to enroll students into your course site:
- Click on Control Panel
- Under User Management, Click on "Add Users"
- Click on "Enroll Existing User"
- In the Search box, type all or part of the student's last name
- Click on the Search Button
- Check the box next to the name of the student whom you wish to enroll
- Click on the Submit Button
- Click on the OK Button
Repeat for each student you would like to enroll in your course site. |
Blackboard Usernames and Passwords:
Student Usernames in Blackboard are the same as as a Student's Network ID. However, Passwords in Blackboard have evolved over time. Privacy issues no longer allow Iona College to use the social security number as the unique student identifier. Newly generated accounts use the last four digits of the PeopleSoft EMPLID.
Blackboard Passwords After June 24, 2004:
Newly registered Iona students, or current Iona students who are enrolled in Blackboard for the first time would use the first two letters of their first name, first two letters of their last name and the last four digits of the EMPLID.
