CELTIC Awards and Grants 2008
Eligibility and Procedures for Submission
Application Deadline: April 4, 2008

CELTIC has been established to provide resources, training, programs, events and grants designed to inspire, support and enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning. In order to promote this effort, the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Iona College is announcing its 2008 Grants and Awards:

Iona Presidential Teaching Scholar Award One award -- $6000
CELTIC Excellence in Teaching Awards (CETA) Five awards -- $1500 each
Faculty Instructional Technology Awards (FITA) Two awards -- $1500 each

 

Eligibility:

  1. This application is open to all full-time teaching faculty members at Iona College. Adjunct and non-teaching faculty members are not eligible.
  2. All applicants must be prepared to submit an interim report on their project by October 31, 2008.
  3. All applicants must be prepared to submit a final report on their project by March 31, 2009.

Procedure for Submission:

All applicants must submit their proposal in a Microsoft WORD document, by email to Diana Breen dbreen@iona.edu. The proposal must include the applicant’s name, title, department, phone number and email address. In addition, the proposal must contain

  • a short abstract (250 words or less) of what is being proposed
  • a narrative that develops the proposal
  • a list of the specific ways in which the proposal relates to and improves teaching and learning.


The deadline for all applications is April 4, 2008. Announcement of the awards will be made by April 22, 2008 via e-mail.
