Computing accounts are issued to all students, faculty, staff and administrators at Iona College.
Computer ID:
A computer id and password is created for students at the time of their first registration and is maintained for all currently registered students. Computer accounts expire approximately 30 days after the end of the last term for which you are registered. A computer id is needed to access all computers in the public computing labs and the library as well as some departmental computing labs. All incoming freshmen receive a letter informing them of their computer id. You may also obtain your computer id from the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.
Email ID:
An email id and password is created for students at the time of their first registration and is maintained for all currently registered students. All incoming freshmen receive a letter informing them of their id. You may also obtain your email id from the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.
PeopleSoft ID:
All currently registered students are issued a PeopleSoft id and password which will allow them to access their student information via the Internet. This id is created for students at the time of their first registration and remains active as long as they are a registered student. All incoming freshmen receive a letter informing them of their PeopleSoft id and password. You may also obtain your PeopleSoft id and password from the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.
Blackboard ID:
Students enrolled in distance learning courses or courses where faculty utilize Blackboard as an on-line component for their class are issued a Blackboard id and password. Faculty members will inform students if they are utilizing Blackboard in their course. If you have a question regarding your Blackboard id and password, you should go to the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.
Naming Convention:
All of the above student computing accounts follow the same naming convention for the computer id. The email address has an @ sign and the domain name iona.edu attached to the end. For example, someone's network id, PeopleSoft id and Blackboard id might be zz99 or adilello1. Their email id would be zz99@iona.edu or adilello1@iona.edu. If you misplace your passwords, you should contact the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.

A network id is needed to access all computers in the public computing labs and the library as well as office computers. All new faculty members may pick up their network id and password from the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Iona College adjacent to Ryan Library.
Email ID:
An email id and password is created for all faculty members after their employment status is verified by HR and is maintained while they are employed by Iona College. PeopleSoft ID:
All faculty members are issued a PeopleSoft id and password which will allow them to access their class rosters and grade rosters via the Internet. All new faculty members may pick up their id and password from the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Iona College adjacent to Ryan Library.
Blackboard ID:
Faculty members who would like to utilize Blackboard for their distance learning courses or use it as an on-line component in their classes, should contact the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Iona College adjacent to Ryan Library at (914) 633-2146.
Web Publishing ID:
All full-time Iona College faculty members can receive an account to publish course related web pages. All adjunct faculty members need to request web publishing accounts through their department chair.
If you forget any of your passwords, you will need to go to the Help Desk located located at the main desk in Ryan Library. Faculty members may also have their PeopleSoft password reset at the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Iona College (CELTIC) adjacent to Ryan Library. You may be asked to present photo id before they change your password.
Computer and Email IDs:
A computer id and email id is created for all staff and administrators upon request. A computer id is needed to access all network services including email and the Internet. Requests should be submitted to the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library. The Help Desk must confirm employment status with Human Resources before the accounts can be created. The Help Desk will contact you once the appropriate accounts are created.
PeopleSoft ID:
If a member of the staff or administration needs PeopleSoft access, they should contact the Help Desk located at the main desk in Ryan Library.
