The
Master of Science in Computer Science is a 36-credit degree program, offered
in the evening on a semester schedule at both the New Rochelle and Blue
Hill campuses. The average time to complete the degree is two years. Most
students in this program work full-time and pursue their degree on a part-time
basis, averaging six credits per semester. Summer and on-line courses are
available. The degree requires 15 credits in core courses, 15 credits in
electives to be chosen in consultation with the department advisor, and
a choice of a thesis or participation in a structured design and programming
laboratory.
Iona welcomes career changers without a computing background to take transition
courses in programming and mathematics to prepare to enter the program.
Graduate advisors will help you to determine the appropriate courses based
upon your background. Those needing the transition courses may require
additional time towards completion of the degree.
