Ryan Library was named after Patrick J. Ryan, founder of the American Province of the Congregation of Christian Brothers. The Ryan Library building was opened in 1949. Conforming to the Georgian Colonial style, the building is constructed of red brick with wood trim and tile roofing. Today the site houses the bulk of the Iona College Libraries' print collection. The library also offers dual boot iMacs offering a choice of Windows and Mac OS with online access to subscription electronic research databases and journals. The Petronio Room for rare books houses special editions, the Iona Archives, and special collections relating to Irish life and literature. Photos »

The Iona
College Rockland Graduate Center Library opened in 2003 to serve
the graduate programs offered there. This site has a core collection
of books and periodicals. The collection is amply supplemented by loans
from the New Rochelle campus libraries and by many electronic books and
