In this chapter we're going to discuss citing sources: why to cite them, when to cite them and how to cite them using the most popular Citation Styles.

  • give three reasons why it is important to cite sources accurately
  • explain when you must cite a source
  • name the two most important Citation Styles (APA and MLA) and their associated academic disciplines
  • be able to cite a book and a journal article in APA or MLA style when provided the rules and examples for reference
