From research to writing, responsibly

In this chapter we've seen that actually doing the research is only the first step in completing a research project. It's equally important that you do your best to integrate the results of your research into your own writing in a responsible manner.

One last time, here are some tips for avoiding the plagiarism trap.

Don't procrastinate! If you wait too long to start an assignment, the temptation to cut corners may overwhelm your good judgment.
Get help! If you're insecure about your writing skills, talk to your professor or the people in the Writing Center. If you need help with your research, Ask Us!
Read thoroughly.
Take good notes, don't just type directly from your readings into your paper.
Learn how to paraphrase correctly.
