Evaluating web pages

Who can make a web page?

Anyone with a computer and access to a web server. And these people have been busy. In a recent study, Cyveillance, Inc. estimated that there are 2.1 billion publicly-available web pages on the Internet, a number that is increasing by 7 million pages per day.

No editors, no reviewers, no proofreaders are required, and often none are involved. No gatekeepers. No one to say "this is good", "this is bad", "this is true" or "this is false."

But, listen up! The responsibility for evaluating this information has not gone away. It has simply shifted from those editors and reviewers to you.

Yes, you.
