About

Inside Iona is the online newsletter for faculty, staff and administrators and other members of the Iona College community. It is produced by the Office of College Communications. Inside Iona provides news and information on professional activities, events, academic programs, College policies and procedures, and any achievements by the institution or its members. This includes, but is not limited to, news about office mergers or relocations, new appointments, change of vendors, implementation of new policies, invitations to campus-wide events and more.

Submissions

Submission to Inside Iona should be conducted via the online form or e-mail information to insideiona@iona.edu with your topic in the subject line. Please include your name, title, department or office, and a brief description of your accomplishment(s), including date(s). Items are subject to editing and are generally limited to activities completed during the past four months. Copy deadline is noon the Friday prior to publication.

Submission of Images

Submission of photographs is encouraged; however, the editor makes no assurances regarding the use of provided material and reserves the right to resize or reformat images. Each person in the photo should be clearly identified, and all submissions should be labeled for return. Images submitted should have resolutions of at least 200 dpi. Please submit images via e-mail to insideiona@iona.edu. Preferred file formats are JPEG (*.jpg) and TIFF (*.tif). Submission of photographs implies permission to publish.

Ideas and Suggestions

College Communications welcomes ideas and suggestions for articles. To contribute or discuss submissions, contact Candice Thumser at 7705 or e-mail cthumser@iona.edu. Copy deadline is noon the Friday prior to publication.

Editorial Policy

Inside Iona is not an appropriate communication tool for:

  • Specialized information for a narrow audience such as an individual academic department or administrative unit, etc.
  • Announcements for rental properties, private business offerings, garage sales, etc.
  • News from other organizations or campuses that does not directly pertain to the Iona College community.

The editor encourages suggestions for articles, but makes no guarantees regarding the use of suggested material. College Communications will not disseminate messages or material that is of questionable taste, has the potential to be divisive, or does not advance the mission of Iona.
