New Success Stories and the 1.3 Million Difference
During the 2009 -2010 fiscal year, faculty and staff supported
the Annual Fund by contributing $34,000 toward the $1.3 million dollars raised to support the success of current students. Thank You!

This academic year is shaping up to be one of turning points and new beginnings as we celebrate the College's 70th year and prepare for Brother Liguori's final year as president. It is our hope that employee support to the Annual Fund will be a tribute to the legacy Brother Liguori will leave us and a testament to our support of the success of our students.

Your gift to the Annual Fund supports scholarships, student programs, technology resources and much more. Please take a moment to learn about the new 2010 -2011 Annual Fund and how your gift will continue to support the success of these students and many more.

Your gift, no matter the size, supports success at Iona. Make your contribution today!  All 2010 -2011 donors will be recognized for their generosity in the commemorative journals at the Loftus Dinner, the Trustee Dinner Dance, as well as in the Annual Report.

New: All gifts of $100 or more are eligible for a raffle prize.

Our goal is to further the growth and development of our students outside of the classroom through the various programs and opportunities we provide on a daily basis. Through collaboration we provide innovative programs, activities, and services that enhance the quality of student life.

Through the several initiatives we provide to our students, we also provide mentorship opportunities for YOU! If you are interested in additional opportunities to aid, volunteer or mentor students, please contact Sherlene Ayala in the Office of Student Development.

Workshop for All First-Year Students
Each academic year, before students have had a chance to even settle in with their course work, a very important workshop is delivered to all first-year students. The Office of Residential Life, in collaboration with the Counseling Center and the Office of Off-Campus Housing, developed a program about preventing interpersonal violence on the College campus. During the first activity period of the academic year, all residential first-year students are required to attend the program
with their floor. The following day, the program is offered to first-year commuter students. The program is facilitated by various members of the division of Student Development, the Office of Campus Ministries and Student Retention. The program is designed to introduce the topic of sexual assault, its connection to alcohol and other drug use, and the relevance of domestic violence. Participants are shown a video on the topic of sexual assault and then led through a discussion. There is also a component on the legal construct of consent and how to report incidents. Given the research on the prevalence of this issue for college students, especially first-year students during their first weeks on campus, the College is taking a proactive step to prepare our students. Now in its fifth year, the program has been evaluated as highly effective in helping our students.
