Iona College Offers Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
New Rochelle, NY, February 2, 2001 - Under the leadership of Dr. William
Bottiglieri, Professor of Information and Decision Technology Management
(IDTM) and Accounting at Iona College, faculty and students will participate
in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), sponsored by the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
On five Saturday mornings, March 3, 10, 24 and 31 and April 7, from
9:00 am through 1 pm on the lower level of Hagan Hall on the Iona
campus at 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle, volunteers will provide assistance
to people with their basic tax returns. The program targets those with
low or limited income, individuals with disabilities, those who are non-English
speaking and elderly taxpayers.
