"Dinosaurs on Four Continents" Presented

New Rochelle, NY, March 22, 2001 - Dr. Peter Dodson, a paleontologist
and Professor of Anatomy and Geology at the University of Pennsylvania,
will present "Dinosaur Studies on Four Continents," as a lecturer
in the Thomas G. Bullen, CFC Memorial Lecture Series in Science and Technology
at Iona College. The lecture is free and open to the public and will
take place on Thursday, March 29 at 12 noon in Joyce Auditorium on the
College's New Rochelle campus, 715 North Avenue.
Dr. Dodson received his Ph.D from Yale University where he studies with
Dr. John Ostrom, a seminal figure in the dinosaur renaissance that began
in the 1970s. Dr. Dodson has made expeditions to China, Madagascar, Egypt
and Argentina, as well as to the western United States, where he discovered
a new horned dinosaur in Montana described as Avaceratops lammersi. He
is co-editor of The Dinosauria, (University of California Press, 1990),
voted the best Geosciences reference book of the year, author of The
Horned Dinosaurs, (Princeton University Press, 1996) and several children's
books including An Alphabet of Dinosaurs (Scholastic, 1995).
The Thomas G. Bullen, CFC Memorial Lecture Series in Science and Technology
