Iona College Announces New Vice President for Advancement
New Rochelle, NY, April 11, 2001 - Brother James A. Liguori, CFC, president
of Iona College, has announced that Richard Petriccione, Iona's Athletics
Director, will succeed Lois Fahey as Vice President for Advancement.
Fahey announced her resignation late last month and said that she leaves
Iona with "mixed emotions," but with an abiding belief in the
mission of the College. A move to Pennsylvania precludes her from remaining
at Iona. "In her two years at Iona, Fahey has devoted herself tirelessly
to the achievement of the goals of the division and of Iona College," said
Brother Liguori. "She will be missed."
Petriccione '81,'95MS, who has been with Iona for more than 20 years
and has been Athletics Director for 12 years, will assume his new position
on July 1, 2001. His title shall be Vice President for Advancement & External
Affairs. The main focus of his first year in this office will be the
successful completion of the public phase of the capital campaign.
Petriccione commented, "I am very excited for this opportunity
to work with Brother Liguori and enlarge the scope of my work in advancing
the mission of Iona College."
Dr. Warren Rosenberg, dean of Iona's School of Arts and Science has
agreed to chair the search committee for the new athletics director.
The committee will include faculty and students.
