New Rochelle, NY, November 1, 2000 - John Budd, a distinguished award winning corporate and agency public relations leader, urges communications graduates to "Go for a public relations CAREER, not just a P.R. job!"

Mr. Budd will address Iona students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public on Wednesday evening, November 15th, at 6:30 pm at Iona College's Murphy Center, Room 319 (third floor auditorium). His speech will be the second in the "P.R. Pathfinder" Lecture series initiated this year and sponsored by the Iona College Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

Currently Chairman and CEO of The Omega Group, a New York-based "think tank" to the public relations field, Mr. Budd was previously the builder and leader of the public relations department of Emhart Corporation for over a decade, as well as a career executive at Carl Byoir & Associates in New York. He has successfully practiced and directed public relations from both the client and agency perspective throughout his career.

He is a recipient of the "Gold Anvil" Award, the highest award of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), as well as eight PRSA "Silver Anvil" Awards for outstanding public relations programs.

Mr. Budd is the author of several books on public relations management, including Street Smart Public Relations and 14 Personal Secrets to Making It in PR. His newest book, The Da Vinci Factor, will be published on-line by the end of the year via Xlibris.

The "PR Pathfinder" Lecture series is open to the public. A donation of $5.00 is suggested.
