Iona College Council on the Arts Presents "Three-Penny
Opera"
New Rochelle, NY, November 1, 2000 - The world famous "Three-Penny
Opera" by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill will be presented by Iona
College on Thursday, November 30 through Saturday, December 2 and Thursday,
December 7 through Saturday, December 9 at Doorley Auditorium at 7:30
pm on the College campus, 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle. Admission
is $5 and the general public is welcome.
Directed by Roderick Nash, "Three-Penny Opera" is presented
by Iona's Speech Communication Studies Department, of which Mr. Nash
is a faculty member. It is sponsored by the College's Council on the
Arts, which is dedicated to providing artistic and cultural programs
for the enrichment of the Iona College community, particularly the student
body. With an endowment from the Baron Lambert Fund for the Arts, established
by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Murphy, the Council exists to make the arts
more present and visible - providing the unique awareness, inspiration
and participation which the arts promote.
