Two Iona Students Receive Prestigious Scholarships

Two Others Participate in RISE Symposium

New Rochelle, NY, February 25, 2002 - Only twelve recipients out of 300 applicants were awarded acceptance into the prestigious Italian-American Scholarship program and two are Iona students: Suzanne Pricci and Paul Nobile. They are the first Iona students to win this scholarship; other winners are from Harvard, St. John's University and the University of Virginia, among other institutions. Both students are Italian majors and they will participate in a four-week course this summer in Rome, studying Twentieth-century Italian history and thought, relations between the U.S. and Italy and the Italian business system. Eligibility required that applicants be juniors, seniors or graduate students and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Two additional Iona students, Frank Salomone and Mark Leveck have been sponsored by the College's Finance Club to attend the RISE - Redefining Investment Strategy Education - Symposium in February, 2002. A National Student Investment Strategy Symposium is presented by the Center for Portfolio Management and Security Analysis at the University of Dayton School of Business Administration.

The symposium brings students, faculty and investment professionals together in an interactive environment to focus on strategic issues facing tomorrow's leaders in the investment industry. The students participated in breakout sessions focusing on selected portfolio management issues and academic program development.
