Two Iona Students Receive Prestigious Scholarships
Two Others Participate in RISE Symposium
New Rochelle, NY, February 25, 2002 - Only twelve recipients out of
300 applicants were awarded acceptance into the prestigious Italian-American
Scholarship program and two are Iona students: Suzanne Pricci and Paul
Nobile. They are the first Iona students to win this scholarship; other
winners are from Harvard, St. John's University and the University of
Virginia, among other institutions. Both students are Italian majors
and they will participate in a four-week course this summer in Rome,
studying Twentieth-century Italian history and thought, relations between
the U.S. and Italy and the Italian business system. Eligibility required
that applicants be juniors, seniors or graduate students and have a minimum
3.5 GPA.
Two additional Iona students, Frank Salomone and Mark Leveck have been
sponsored by the College's Finance Club to attend the RISE - Redefining
Investment Strategy Education - Symposium in February, 2002. A National
Student Investment Strategy Symposium is presented by the Center for
Portfolio Management and Security Analysis at the University of Dayton
School of Business Administration.
The symposium brings students, faculty and investment professionals
together in an interactive environment to focus on strategic issues facing
tomorrow's leaders in the investment industry. The students participated
in breakout sessions focusing on selected portfolio management issues
and academic program development.
