Iona College Celebrates Reunion Weekend 2002 June 7 - 9

New Rochelle, NY, May 8, 2002 - Iona College will host its annual Reunion Weekend June 7-9 on the New Rochelle campus, 715 North Avenue. Alumni from the classes of '47, '52, '57, '62, '67, '72, '77, '82, '87, '92, and '97 will return to Iona for the activities planned by the College's Office of Alumni Relations. The highlight of the weekend will be the annual Alumni Gala at 7 pm on Saturday, June 8, where several Iona alumni and friends will receive awards for outstanding contributions to the College.

The weekend will kick off with three class reunions and cocktail receptions on Friday, June 7. The classes of '47, '52, '57, '62, and '67 will gather for a reunion reception on the lawn of the DeSantis Alumni House, 115 Beechmont Drive, from 5-7 pm. The classes of '72, '77, '82, and '87 will attend a reunion reception at the Iona College Arts Center, 715 North Avenue, from 7:30 - 10 pm. The classes of '92 and '97 will attend a reunion reception at the Beechmont Tavern on North Avenue from 8-11 pm.

Saturday's events begin with a breakfast in Spellman Hall at 9:30 am Campus walking tours begin at 11 am; an alumni barbeque featuring letters from "The Greatest Generation" -- stories submitted by alumni from the classes of '44 - '52 and read by current Iona students -- and reunions for bagpipers, Gaelic Society and Tara Knights members will occur on campus from 11:30 am - 3 pm; a cocktail reception gets underway in Hagan Hall at 6 pm; and the Alumni Gala follows at 7 pm in the Mulcahy Campus Center.

Reunion Weekend 2002 concludes with a Mass and brunch buffet on Sunday, June 9 at 10:30 am in the Ferdinand E. Arrigoni Center.
