Iona College Council on the Arts Kicks Off 2002 - 2003 Season with Faculty Exhibition

Three Painters On Display from September 16 - October 18

New Rochelle, NY, August 28, 2002 - The Iona College Council on the Arts will present Three Painters: 2002 Art Faculty Exhibition from Monday, September 16 until Friday, October 18 at the Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery in the Iona College Arts Center, 715 North Avenue in New Rochelle. The opening reception will occur on Sunday, September 22, from 2-5 pm.

Three Painters features the works of three Iona College faculty members - Kenneth Chapman, CFC, Sheila Kriemelman and Stanley Lapa. Chapman has produced notable paintings, images and objects in nearly all media, and among his numerous awards, he won first prize in two-dimensional work and mixed media at the Mamaroneck Artists' Guild in 1993. Kriemelman is listed in the Who's Who in American Art and Outstanding People of the 20th Century. She has exhibited extensively in the United States, England and Australia, including the National Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Honolulu Academy of Art. Lapa is the co-founder of the Westchester Watercolor Workshop and is currently a juried member (photography and watercolor) of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild and the Society for Photographic Education. He has exhibited extensively in the metropolitan area, and in national juried competitions and local art associations.

Tuesday, September 17 Kenneth Chapman, CFC
Tuesday, September 24 Sheila Kriemelman
Tuesday, October 1 Stanley Lapa

Gallery Hours:
Monday - Thursday, noon - 4 pm.
Thursday, 6:30 - 8 pm.
Saturday and Sunday, noon - 3 pm.
