Learning in Retirement at Iona College Hosts Open
House and Reception September 22
New Rochelle, NY, August 27, 2002 - LIRIC, an Elderhostel Institute
of Learning at Iona College, will showcase its fall program of daytime
courses on Sunday, September 22 at 2 pm in Spellman Hall, Iona College,
715 North Avenue in New Rochelle. This member-developed and directed
program includes courses in art, creative writing, biology, book discussion,
and jazz. Field trips and visits to cultural sites are also a vital part
of the program.
LIRIC is a membership institute within Iona's School of Arts and Science.
It offers an educational and social program for men and women of retirement
age - a program that members design to suit their own needs and interests.
LIRIC is an affiliate of the Elderhostel Institute Network, an international
association that links more than 260 Institutes for Learning in Retirement.
All these affiliates operate in the academic environment of colleges
or universities and, therefore, LIRIC is pleased to be part of the Iona
community.
