Learning in Retirement at Iona College Hosts Open
House and Reception Feb. 2
New Rochelle, NY, January 2, 2003 - Learning in Retirement at
Iona College (LIRIC), an Elderhostel Institute of Learning, will showcase
its spring program of daytime courses on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 pm in
Spellman Hall, Iona College, 715 North Ave. Refreshments will be served
and free parking is available on the College campus.
The spring semester starts March 6 and will run until the first week of May.
LIRIC is a membership institute within Iona's School of Arts and Science offering
an educational and social program for people of retirement age that members design
to suit their own needs and interests.
This member-developed and directed program includes courses in art,
creative writing, biology, book discussion, and jazz. Field trips and
visits to cultural sites are also a vital part of the program. Celebrating
its 10th anniversary this year, LIRIC is the first Institute for Learing
in Retirement in Westchester County affiliated with Elderhostel.
