Sponsor Job Shadowing Day April 3
New Rochelle, NY, March 10, 2003 - Iona College and the New Rochelle
Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Focus on the Future Day on Thursday,
April 3. Sophomores and juniors from New Rochelle High School, Salesian
High School, Blessed Sacrament School, Iona Preparatory and The Ursuline
School will participate in this job shadowing program that will provide
them with hands-on experience in an occupation they have researched and
want to learn more about.
Participating organizations and individuals who have committed to Focus
on the Future Day include New Rochelle City Hall, Soundshore Medical
Center, the Community Center for Employment and Training, Family Service
of Westchester, Union State Bank, and David Biskup, CPA. Mentors will
meet their students at a breakfast reception in Spellman Hall on the
Iona campus at 8:15 am where New Rochelle Mayor Timothy Idoni will
give a welcome along with Tom Benz, executive director of the New Rochelle
Chamber of Commerce, and Br. James Liguori, Iona College president. Students
and mentors will depart to their workplaces at 9 am.
