Iona's Rockland Campus Moves to Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River

New Rochelle, NY, August 6, 2003 - Iona College has opened its Rockland Campus at the Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River, featuring the internationally accredited MBA program and numerous graduate degree programs in the School of Arts and Science. The Iona branch will also launch an offering of undergraduate courses during semesters and special sessions, and pursue partnering with Rockland businesses and non-profits for training seminars and conferences.

Strategically positioned between the Tappan Zee and George Washington bridges, Iona College at Blue Hill includes nine classrooms with projection systems, two computer labs housing 20 machines in each, a library, a lounge, conference rooms and administrative offices. Heading the move is Frances Reinstein, director of Iona College at Blue Hill. Previously, Reinstein was a vice president at Fleet Bank, Emerging Growth Markets, Women Entrepreneur's Connection, and joins Iona with a wealth of experience in the corporate and education fields.

"Fran has begun meeting with corporate tenants at Blue Hill and numerous organizations throughout Rockland County to discuss ways Iona may better serve their needs. I am extremely optimistic about her appointment," said Warren Rosenberg, PhD, acting president of Iona College.

Iona's Hagan School of Business is accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business - and is among the top 30 percent of business schools worldwide.
Students can choose from MBA degrees in management, human resources management, financial management, marketing and information and decision technology management. New York State approved the e-Commerce Certificate last year and it, as well as the International Business Certificate, can be earned within the MBA Program or as part of the Post-Master's Certificate (PMC) Program.

Students at the Blue Hill campus can also pursue numerous graduate degrees in Iona's School of Arts and Science. Programs in telecommunications, computer science, history, English, teaching (for career changers), education and educational technology enable professionals looking to enhance their qualifications gain an edge in the workforce. In addition to these offerings, the program in Mass Communication holds national accreditation by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) and offers a master of arts degree with a concentration in corporate communications or public relations, and a master of science degree in journalism.
