To the Iona Class of 2007:

One of the first things that I wanted to do as I returned from my six month sabbatical was to communicate with you. The chances are likely that I have not had the opportunity to meet you. At the very least, the president of the College should be known to his students. That is the reason for this letter. I wanted to introduce myself to you and encourage you to come to my office to meet me sometime during this semester. In particular, you are most welcome to come to see me during my Open Office Hour on Monday mornings from 9 to 10 am. My office is in McSpedon Hall.

I have been told what a fine class you are. Hopefully, your first semester was successful and you are happy at Iona. If you did indeed do well, congratulations! If you did not do well, I encourage you to seek help immediately. Everyone at Iona College is here to be of service to you, to stretch your horizons and to assist you in living more productive lives. That is our mission and our privilege.

If there is any way that I can make your time among us more enjoyable and challenging, please call upon me. The easiest way to contact me is through e-mail (jliguori@iona.edu). In the meantime, may I wish you all of God's blessing in 2004. Be happy and proud of Iona College!
