Former US Senator Bill Bradley to Present 'America: the Path Ahead' at Presidential Leadership Series Feb. 12

New Rochelle, NY - Bill Bradley, former US Senator from New Jersey, will discuss "America: the Path Ahead" on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7:00 pm in Joyce Auditorium, located across from Iona's main campus at 715 North Ave. in New Rochelle. This event, the Third Annual Presidential Leadership Series and is free and open to the public. Free parking is available on the main campus.

Bradley, who was a democratic presidential candidate in 2000, has written five books on American politics, culture, and economy, including Time Present, Time Past, about his life as a Senator and his travels throughout the country and New York Times best seller "Values of the Game," a book of basketball inspired essays. Bradley's newest book is The Journey From Here.

From winning an Olympic gold medal in basketball at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, to representing New Jersey in the United States Senate from 1979 to 1997, to running for President in 2000, Bradley has been a national leader for more than thirty years. He is managing director of Allen & Company, Inc., and also serves as chief outside advisor to McKinsey & Company's non-profit.

"Iona students have the exciting opportunity to be both inspired and educated by Bill Bradley's experience and success in the diverse arenas of politics and basketball. As a former NBA championship player, US senator and democratic presidential candidate, Bradley exemplifies the individuals Iona seeks to cultivate - those who integrate the spiritual, intellectual, civic, emotional and physical dimensions of their lives. I will be honored to welcome him to our campus and proud to see him communicate with our students," said Iona President James A. Liguori, CFC.

The Presidential Leadership Series is made possible by the generosity of Maryanne C. Franchella and Richard J. Franchella '82. Founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, Iona College is a private, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of American Catholic higher education. Iona offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts, science, and business administration, as well as master of arts, master of science and master of business administration degrees and numerous post-graduate certificate programs.
