The US Holocaust Memorial Museum to Co-sponsorIona's 16th Holocaust Commemoration April 22

New Rochelle, NY - The Iona College Br. John G. Driscoll Professorship in Jewish-Catholic Studies and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, will co-sponsor Iona's 16th Holocaust Commemoration on Thursday, April 22. The title of this day at Iona will be The Challenge for Christian Ethics and Theology and the lectures offered are free and open to the public.

John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, PhD, professor of social ethics and director of the Catholic-Jewish Studies Program at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, will present The Challenge of the Holocaust for Christian Ethics and Theology at 11 am in Joyce Auditorium and at 7:30 pm in Spellman Lounge. Dr. Pawlikowski is also president of the International Council of Christians and Jews, and recently published Ethics in the Shadow of the Holocaust. Margaret Obrecht, director of the Committee on Church Relations and the Holocaust at the USHMM, will provide a welcome at each lecture and Rabbi Michael D. Stanger, Westchester Jewish Center, will offer a rabbinical response at the evening lecture.
