Iona Republicans Student Organization Raises Nearly $1K to Install American Flags in All Classrooms

New Rochelle, NY - The Iona College Republicans Student Organization today announced it has raised nearly one thousand dollars to purchase an American flag for every classroom on campus. The flag fundraiser began in February and the students will present donors with plaques at a ceremony Wednesday, May 4 at 11 am

“I am so proud to have done this and we are extremely excited that the most tangible symbol of our freedom will be so visible on our campus,” said Tuckahoe resident Patrick Juliano, president of the Iona Republicans, who created the flag campaign. The Iona Republican Student Organization meets once a week to discuss political issues, upcoming events and community service projects. Events and activities include voter registration, hosting political debates and assisting with local republican elections.

Founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, Iona College is a private, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of American Catholic higher education.
