Iona Named One of The Best Northeastern Colleges by The Princeton Review

New Rochelle, NY– Iona is one of 224 select colleges and universities in the Northeast that The Princeton Review profiles in the new 2006 edition of its book, The Best Northeastern Colleges. The goal of this list, states the Princeton Review on its web site, is “to identify some of the colleges and universities that stand out within each region.”

Ratings are determined by the following factors: class rank, average standardized test scores, average high school GPA of entering freshmen, the percentage of out-of-state students, and the percentage of applicants accepted. The profiles include candid remarks from current students about their colleges. Iona students surveyed mention the College’s ideal proximity to New York City for social and career opportunities, in addition to the school’s commitment to small class sizes. Founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, Iona College is a private, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of American Catholic higher education. Iona offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts, science and business administration, as well as master of arts, master of science and master of business administration degrees and numerous post-graduate certificate programs.
