Blood Drive for Critically Injured NYC Firefighter Matt
Long ’89 3 - 7 pm Jan. 12
New Rochelle, NY – Iona College and Sound Shored Medical Center of Westchester will hold a blood drive in the LaPenta Student Union from 3-7 pm on Thursday, January 12 in honor of New York City firefighter and Iona alumnus Matt Long (Iona Class of 1989). Long was critically injured on Dec. 21 when he was struck by a private bus while biking to the FDNY Academy on Randalls Island during the transit strike. While his health continues to improve, Long remains in critical condition and has undergone several life-threatening surgeries.
