Iona Council for Greek Governance Raises Over $15k for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Will Stay "Up 'til Dawn" May 4

New Rochelle, NY – Iona students will stay up late on Thursday, May 4, but it won’t be for studying. Instead, they will celebrate a successful semester of fundraising through “Up ‘til Dawn,” a program dedicated to the life-saving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The inaugural event will take place at 8 pm in the Hynes Athletics Center where students will be entertained by Ten Pound Strike, a student band, and a DJ.

A local St. Jude family will also attend the event to remind participants why their hard work is so important. The Up ‘til Dawn event is the culmination of five months of fund-raising activities led by Iona’s Council for Greek Governance to benefit the kids of St. Jude. The students raised over $15,000 through the program by organizing a letter-writing campaign that began on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Also supporting the students’ efforts are the Avenue Deli and The Eatery who will provide all the food for the night.
