U.S. News & World Report Names Iona One of the Top Colleges in the North with Master’s Degree Programs

New Rochelle , NY – Iona is ranked in the top tier of colleges and universities in the northern United States in the latest edition of the annual U.S. News & World Report America’s Best Colleges guide for the third year in a row. Ranked fortieth out of 165 northern institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s level programs, Iona has moved up four spots from last year to achieve its best U.S. News ranking. Among the factors that make Iona a top tier institution are its student/faculty ratio (15/1) and the percentage of freshman in the top 25% of their high school class (51%). Founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, Iona College is a private, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of American Catholic higher education. Iona, currently listed in the US News and World Report's annual " America's Best Colleges 2007" and The Princeton Review's Best Northeastern Colleges 2007 edition, offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts, science, and business administration, as well as master of arts, master of science and master of business administration degrees and numerous post-graduate certificate programs.
