New Rochelle, NY (February 2011) - Color for Color's Sake, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures created by artist Ted Mikulski specifically for Iona College's Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery, will be on display free of charge from March 6 until April 7. The gallery is located at 665 North Avenue, New Rochelle.
Mr. Milulski was originally known for his abstract expressionism has branched out into installation work and pop-art hybrids. Color for Color's Sake features the artist's life-long obsession with color and expression.
Madalyn Barbero Jordan, Gallery Director, said: "We are very honored to showcase the latest creations by Ted Mikulski who is making his mark on the art scene. With innovative and bold art that consistently draws in its viewers, he is an artist to watch in the coming years."
Speaking about his art, Mr. Milulski noted: "I like large surfaces, which allow me to be freer with the medium and express and overall concept. The work allows itself to be open to conceptual interpretation and thus transcend dimensionality. It's meaning evolves and changes over time until it becomes something intimate."
The exhibition is being presented by Iona's Council on the Arts. There will be an opening reception at the gallery from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 6 and the closing reception from noon to 3:00 pm, Thursday, April 7. The gallery is open to the public from noon to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday; 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday. It is closed Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.
