Iona College and Concordia College representatives recently presented a donation in the amount of $1215 and assorted food items to the Eastchester Community Action Program (CAP). The contributions were from proceeds collected from the College’s first annual employee charity softball game held in mid-July. Regina Reilly from Iona’s Admissions department and Kathleen Hymes from Concordia’s Registrar Office presented the check to Eastchester CAP’s Area Director Charlene Lambrecht. The Food Pantry, through partnerships with local Food Banks, distributes food to more than 100 families living below the poverty line each month. Eastchester CAP also offers after-care programs, summer camp for low-income families.
