Iona College Honors Two Exemplary Alumni at 39th
Annual Trustee Award Dinner Dance
Major Event Scheduled for April 28 at The Waldorf Astoria, NYC
New Rochelle, New York, April 11, 2000 - Iona College will honor Thomas
E. Hales, chairman, president and CEO of Union State Bank and Andrew Dolce,
chairman and CEO of Dolce International, at its 39th annual Trustee Award Dinner
Dance on Friday, April 28, beginning at 6 pm in the Grand Ballroom of The
Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Both men will be recognized by their
alma mater for their long-term commitment to the College.
Mr. Hales, a College trustee since 1995, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) degree from Iona in 1958. He also was awarded "The Brother William B.
Cornelia Founders' Award" for Outstanding Service to Iona College in 1998.
Other honors include the 1999 "Corporate Citizen Award" by the Boys and Girls
Clubs of New Rochelle.
Andy Dolce, a 1957 graduate of Iona, currently is a member of the College's
Board of Advisory Trustees. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in economics and
his Master's Degree in management from Cornell University. Currently, Dolce
directs Dolce International, which manages resorts and conference centers.
In Westchester County, it has managed Tarrytown House since 1994, and purchased
the property in 1997.
The Iona College Trustee Award Dinner Dance will also acknowledge the recent
accreditation of its Hagan School of Business by the AACSB - The International
Association for Management Education - and will celebrate Iona's 60th anniversary.
Iona College, founded by the Christian Brothers in 1940, is a private, coeducational
institution of learning in the tradition of American Catholic higher education.
