Business Honor Society Installed at Iona's Hagan
School
New Rochelle, New York, April 28, 2000 - A college chapter of Beta
Gamma Sigma, the Honor Society for AACSB - The International Association for
Management Education - Accredited Business Programs was installed in the Hagan
School of Business on April 26, 2000.
Dean Gregory Bruce of LaSalle University, represented the organization and
formally installed the chapter. Beta Gamma Sigma's mission is to encourage
and honor academic achievement in the study of business, and personal and professional
excellence in the practice of business. Founded as a national organization
in 1913, the Society is a member of the Association of College Honors Societies
(ACHS).
Dr. Fredrica Rudell, Marketing and International Business Department, and
Dr. Donald Moscato, IDTM (Information and Decision Technology Management) Department,
and Accounting, are the Iona chapter president and secretary/treasurer, respectively.
Dr. Jeffrey Alstete, Associate Dean of the Hagan School, served as Sergeant
at Arms.
A top percentage of graduating BBA, BS in General Business and MBA students
were selected, and 21 attended the induction during the ceremony that coincided
with the chapter installation.
In addition, President James A. Liguori, CFC, Dean Nicholas J. Beutell and
seven faculty from the Hagan School of Business were also inducted into the
society.
