New Rochelle, NY (July 10, 2012) Iona College announces the appointment of Joseph Wycoff, PhD as Iona’s Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, effective July 16, 2012.
As the director of institutional effectiveness and planning, Dr. Wycoff will have responsibility for the collection of factual and verifiable data; the meaningful analysis of data; and it’s dissemination within the community and externally. He will also provide data and research assistance and serve as a resource for the Iona community in the development and implementation of assessment plans and tools to support data-driven decision-making and problem-solving throughout the College.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Wycoff and his family to the Iona community. Dr. Wycoff’s impressive skills and experience are vital to the effective creation and operation of the college’s first-ever Office of Institutional Effectiveness. We are excited about his arrival and ensuing work,” said Dr. Brian Nickerson, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Wycoff earned his PhD in history from the University of Washington and MA in history from Arizona State University. With over ten years of experience in institutional research, he comes to Iona from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL. Prior to serving as the director of institutional research at Prairie State, Dr. Wycoff served as an instructor and researcher at the University of Washington. He has also worked in the private sector in market research and analytics at Aletheia Research in Sammamish, WA and Cohesion, Inc. in Kent, WA.
After conducting a national search, the Iona College search committee invited Dr. Wycoff along with multiple finalists to visit the College and meet with various constituencies, including the Iona Integrity in Reporting Committee. Upon review of community feedback and the recommendation of the search committee, Dr. Wycoff was selected for his impressive background in institutional research, ability to collaborate across constituencies, and track record in producing high-quality, actionable research.
