Learning in Retirement at Iona College Announces Its Open House

New Rochelle, NY(August, 2012) – The Learning in Retirement (LIRIC) at Iona College will be hosting an Open House on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm in Spellman Hall for new and current members to register for the Fall semester.  The Fall semester runs from October 1 through December 1, 2012. 

New members will have the opportunity to register.  Current members can renew their membership, and all can preview the new courses that will be held at the New Rochelle Elks Club and Iona College.  The program begins promptly at 2:00 p.m.

LIRIC is an educational program for men and women of retirement age who are interested in intellectual stimulation as well as social interaction.  The program offers the opportunity to learn computer skills, play bridge, paint, write and be part of book or current events discussions.

Scheduled this semester are classes in play-reading, jazz, art and music, choreography (with one class presented by Jacques D’Amboise), travel, cooking, history, philosophy, criminal justice as well as The American Short Story, Great Political Films and Revolution!
