Iona College Broadcasting Team Meets the NY Mets

Students in Mass Comm's On-Camera Presence course practiced their skills in a live and action-packed setting before Friday's game between the Marlins and Mets. Alexa Carroll, Kristen Canada and Carly Haden worked on their TV Stand-ups, while Samantha Fiorenzo manned the camera. The "Broadcasting Crew" had a chance to talk and take pictures with former Mets SS Jose Reyes, Mets OF Scott Hairston and Pitcher Bobby Parnell, then watched the game from the press box. "An amazing day, almost surreal. Not only was it a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience, but it made it very clear that interviewing and being part of the media is what I love doing. This is what I want to pursue for a career," said Samantha Fiorenzo. This broadcasting field trip to Citi Field was courtesy of Ethan Wilson of the NY Mets.
