The New Rochelle power outage, due to the Hurricane Sandy, resulted in cancelling Halloween activities for many families who were effected. The campus was bustling with visitors who were greeted by Iona's campus community who spread a little joy in an otherwise challenging time.

"Thanks to the Iona Student Govenment Association and staff, Iona was pleased to host a trick-or-treat community event. Parents, some in tears, were grateful for the activity in the midst of storm recovery," said President Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D.

As of November 3, Iona campus remains closed due to the New Rochelle power outage. Administrators continue round the clock monitoring of the restoration efforts and will determine by 2:00 pm Sunday November 4 if the College will reopen for classes.
