Iona College Announces Purchase of Six Properties in the Beechmont Neighborhood Adjacent to Campus

New Rochelle, NY (November 30, 2012) Iona College announced the purchase of six properties in the Beechmont neighborhood adjacent to the campus. The properties were purchased from The Christian Brothers Institute. “We are pleased to have acquired the properties and to have the Christian Brothers continue to reside on campus,” said Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D., president of Iona College.

Founded in 1940, Iona College is a four-year private, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers and American Catholic higher education. It is a diverse community of learners and scholars dedicated to academic excellence and the values of justice, peace and service.
